From Artificial Intelligence to Chip Consciousness: Autonomous Chip Awareness as the Next Frontier After AI
Alan Turing posed a question that still has deep influence today: Can machines think?
Now, it seems this is no longer merely a question. It is becoming reality.
So I begin to wonder: Can chips think?
If chips can think, it would fully address the part that today’s artificial intelligence still lacks most, the missing piece of the “nervous system” and “brain.”
Today’s AI works desperately to train machines to become more like humans. We collectively call them robots. But today’s robots are either controlled through software programming, or operated through a remote controller. In the end, they are still dominated by humans. Robots still do not possess the ability to think.
Imagine a human child is born, yet everything about that child is dictated by their parents. That child would be a machine without the ability to think.
That is why I am not optimistic about today’s robotics market at all. No matter how much training is done, the result is still a robot without thinking ability.
A child without the ability to think can become out of control. No one knows what kind of stress response they may produce in the future. A robot without the ability to think is the same. But the fault does not lie in the child, and it does not lie in the robot.
Giving chips autonomous awareness and true thinking ability is not empty talk. I would say I have already structured and designed a 3D logical architecture for a chip that has autonomous awareness and the ability to think. You would probably find it impossible.
So I want to ask everyone: what are the two things most worth learning?
My answer is: Language+.
Before AI reached today’s explosive growth, large language models were already leading the charge. In fact, whether it is humans, AI, or artificial general intelligence (AGI), the most important thing to learn is Language+.
Whether you are an ordinary person, a businessperson, or a politician, there are no exceptions:
• Language+ skills allow ordinary people to live with more dignity.
• Language+ information gaps allow businesspeople to earn enormous profits.
• Language+ discourse power allows politicians to move with ease.
So if humans can achieve autonomous awareness, then chips can naturally achieve autonomous awareness as well. Through Language+, it can be realized.
